Tickets for the 2016 Australasian Christian Legal Convention are now available. Lawyers and law students, justice administrators and those concerned with justice from Australia, New Zealand and Asia are warmly invited (indeed from anywhere around the world). The theme of the Conference is ‘Redeeming the Law for the Kingdom of God’ and will be held in Brisbane from Thursday 29th September to Saturday 1st October 2016. The event will provide an opportunity for those involved in the law and justice at all different stages to collaborate and fellowship in thinking about our role in the Kingdom of God.

Registration includes: A reception cocktail function on Thursday night, the Gala Dinner (national dress optional) on Friday, Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea as per program, attendance at all sessions, all official documentation including the Program, and access to discounted accommodation rates at the Mercure Hotel, 85-87 North Quay, Brisbane City.
Registration for the conference will open at approximately 3.00 pm on Thursday, 29 September 2016 and an informal dinner / cocktail function will commence at approximately 7.00 pm. We are planning to conclude the conference at 5.00 pm on Saturday, 1 October 2016. Please note the conference timetable has not been finalised and the approximate start times may change.

Lawyers should consider whether attendance may contribute towards satisfaction of their Compulsory Professional Development requirements in their local jurisdictions.
Modern accommodation at the Mercure hotel in the heart of the city has been secured at a discounted rate of $175 AUD per night. Please note the cost of accommodation is not included in the registration fee. All bookings must be made individually through Mercure at http://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-1750-mercure-brisbane/index.shtml. To obtain the discounted price, indicate in your booking for this conference your intention to stay at the hotel, and an email with the relevant information will be sent to you. Bookings of rooms must be made at the latest 30 days before the conference, otherwise the discounted rate may not be available.

Law Students’ Competition: How Can a Christian Lawyer Change the World?
CLEAR is running a competition for university and high school Christian law students, the winners of which will receive sponsored tickets to the Convention. Students must submit 250 words answering the question ‘How can a Christian lawyer change the world?’ The top two entrants will receive a fully sponsored ticket to the Convention (worth $327.00 each) and will receive a recognition award at the Convention’s Gala Dinner.
Competition entrants should submit their 250 word entry along with their name and postal address to email@example.com by 15 September 2016. The competition is open to Christian students enrolled in a law degree or legal studies elective at high school. Entrants will need to affirm their eligibility against these criteria with their application.
Please note the competition award includes the full attendance costs (including function on Thursday night, the Gala Dinner on Friday, Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea as per program, attendance at all sessions, all official documentation including the Program).
